1
Writing
主题:whether fluoride should continue to be added to public supplies

1. Fluoride in drinking water can prevent cavities because it bonds to the surface of the teeth and makes teeth stronger.
2. Fluoride destroys harmful bacteria and organisms in the water supply without hurting people.
3. Fluoride can reduce the risk of bone disease because this chemical increases the osteoblast activity, thus decreasing bone fractures.
1. There are a lot of other ways to obtain fluoride apart from adding to public supplies.
2. Water often travels through metal pipes which contain lead. The chemical interaction between lead and fluoride will cause lead to leak into water, which is harmful to human beings.
3. High level of fluoride will cause bone-forming cells to overreact, which means the bones are even more likely to break.

Dr. Gupta
ls it better for new businesses to hire experienced veterans of the industry or to staff the business with younger employees who are right out of university? Why do you think so?
Claire
I think a company should staff a business with the most experienced employees possible.
Paul
I understand what Claire is saying, but if you are starting a new business, you want people who are particularly enthusiastic and energetic.
Claire:
1. One compelling advantage of hiring experienced veterans in the early stages of a new business is their unparalleled industry knowledge and expertise.
2. In addition, the veterans’ industry connections prove to be indispensable.
支持Paul:
1. First, since most young professionals are eager to explore new areas, they would spend time learning and absorbing latest academic developments.
2. Moreover, the willingness of younger employees to question established norms and challenge traditional methods can foster a culture of innovation within the organization.
2
Speaking
Task 1
Some students choose to enter university immediately after finishing high school. Others prefer to take time off before beginning their university classes. Which option do you think is better? Explain why.
Well, I believe entering university immediately after high school is a smart choice. First, continuing directly into university helps students maintain academic ability. After years of studying, they are already in the habit of learning. If students take a break, they might lose that feeling and find it harder to adjust to the academic environment when they return. Also, entering university right away allows students to complete their education and start their careers sooner. In a competitive market, the earlier students graduate, the faster they can gain enough work experience. One year delay means a delay in financial independence. This is something many students and their parents don’t want to see.
Task 2

改变:

Task 4
(Selective Breeding):
3
